You mean the 'next' iPad killer? There have
been so many iPad killers already, that there rather should a police unit set
up to monitor activity of all these killers. Most of these killers have died a
fast and sudden death anyway, yet news of 'iPad killers' doesn't fail to grab
our attention each time!
(2) Technology
is an enabler for....
Oh yes, technology is an enabler and
sometimes its mentioned to be 'such an enabler' or 'what an enabler!'... but
this statement has been repeated for donkey's years now. It's true and always
used in context, but the most boring headline possible.
(3) Emergence
of....
People in the tech world need an excuse to
get excited with a new product or a new technology. A typical techie
conversation will see specs being thrown at each other...'yaar usme 8 mega pixel camera hain, 64gb internal storage... quad core
processor... wah! ab phone toh mini computer jaisa sound kar raha hai... dude,
it's the emergence of smart mobility na...'
Saying 'emergence of...' gives you such a
thought leader type of feel, that people and brand never fail to use it. It
becomes a way to tell others i know something or have observed something that
you may not know.
(4) Death of
the...
Whatever seem to be the 'emergence of...' is
soon after killed by the techies! For example, no sooner have we in India
scratched the surfaced wrt social media, there are stories contemplating the
death of it already. Actually 'emergence of...' and 'death of...' are 2 of the
smartest teach headlines, because it makes you believe you have the power of
predicting the future. (And in this case, life and death!)
(5) One of
India's first...
There would have been like a zillion 'India's
firsts' to date! All of them correct, yet only few of them significant. But
wait, it's not even 'India's first', it's 'one of India's first'; which
essentially you're guessing it may have been done before, so just go with one
of India's first.
There are a lot of others too, like '...is
the new normal in', '...is the next big thing in' etc. Tell me some typical
tech headlines you can think off in the comments stream below.
