Microsoft invites developers to the world’s largest AppFest for Windows 8


Microsoft has recently announced the commencement of an App Fest event in Bangalore from Sept 21-22, 2012 at the KTPO. The event is open to all developers in India and across the globe. The marathon of an event will go on for 18 hours and will serve an opportunity for developers to design, build, test and submit apps for Windows 8.

Developers will have the option of submitting Apps in over 20 categories ranging from food, finance productivity, books, social, photo, music and video and shopping. An onsite staff will be available to assist Windows 8 AppFest participants with preparing their apps for eventual submission to the Windows Store.

The Release to Manufacturing (RTM) version of Windows 8 will be made available to developers attending the Apps Fest for Windows 8, who will also have the option of bring their own team of a total of 4 people to build Apps. This gives developers early access to prepare Apps and products for the Windows 8 global launch. The Windows 8 App Fest is therefore an international opportunity, for developers to build their Apps, which will then be available for download across the world through the Windows 8 marketplace.
