Are you
one of those who're confused if you should buy a tablet or not? or should you
buy a smartphone or a tablet? or should you buy a tablet or an ultrabook? or a
netbook or a tablet? I ask these questions because i have encountered a number
of people who're jostling between these queries and are looking for answers.
The main
issue here is about convergence of devices as consumers want to know if there
is one device that will take care of all their needs, so he/ she can
accordingly invest in that. There are more consumer uncertainties regarding convergence,
for example – the consumer is perplexed if the device he’s thinking of buying
would actually better suffice his/ her need or not. This [device convergence] has
been an issue since many years now, but the emergence of new form factors has continuously
made this a pressing issue.
While I've offered my perspective on these queries, both online and offline, enclosed below is a video from a Dell spokesperson [Mr. M. Bhalla, Executive Director & General Manager, CSMB, Dell India] in conversation with Mr Prasanto Roy, Chief Editor, Cybermedia Publications, who provides a perspective on the same. [For convenience, the question arrives at the 3:59min mark]
So what’s your take on the convergence of devices?
