Attraction is the core component to get customers hooked on to newer product categories like tablets [read here] and Samsung has hit the nail on its head by making just the right moves in their pre-launch activities of the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
From pure observations, 3 significant moves made by them are:1. CELEBRITY VIDEOS
Celebrities from various backgrounds were given Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets by Samsung and they have made a video on sharing these celebrity experiences on what they love about this latest Android Gingerbread device from Samsung.
The celebs chosen are - India's ace shooter, Gagan Narang, Sagarika Ghatge, of Chak De! India fame, Ajay Bisht, fashion choreographer and singer Shibani Kashyap - all belong to different backgrounds and regions. You can see the video here at The Mobile Indian. 2. Blogger engagement via Indiblogger – THE SAMSUNG MOBILER PROGRAM
The initiative is brilliant in the way it is executed. It creates:
· Creates pre-launch excitement
· Contest driven online ads on blogs [to be eligible to compete]
· Drives conversations in the blogosphere
· Builds Samsung loyalist product reviewers for future
· Gives information on the India launch date
· Gives information on the webcast
· Apart from giving prizes to winners

3. The WEBCAST
The reach of this launch would be massive via the webcast that Samsung has planned tomorrow.
The success of the tablet will obviously depend on a lot of things, but in times when everyone is coming out with a tablet [even Reliance has come out with one today], pre-launch conversations is something no one apart from Apple and now Samsung has pulled off and am sure this will make a big impact on its success.
