In light of the above deck, I believe that we would be witness to a trend where CTO’s across industries would lead organizations in around 5years time. The importance of IT to grow and scale is unparalleled and the rate of this growth could see the top IT person lead the organization towards its goals. Be it marketing, finance, operations –technology has already percolated across them, but as these organizations grow, the IT deployment and use case in each is only going to proliferate, thereby creating a need to have each move from each division be sanctioned by a CTO. This is just my guestimate, will look forward to opinion from others on this possibility.
